Scams, fees, and how reporting works

Last updated: July 24, 2026

The one rule that protects you

JobNod and legitimate private employers do not charge you to apply, interview, or join. Treat any request for a registration fee, security deposit, paid training, equipment payment, or processing charge as a fraud warning. A government recruitment may have an application fee only when it is published on the agency's official website and paid through its official portal.

Common warning signs

Verify before you apply

What we filter automatically

Every job is screened against known fee-scam patterns before it can be sent. Listings that match are dropped silently. The filter is deliberately conservative โ€” so your report matters for what slips through.

Reporting a listing

If you already paid someone

Contact your bank or payment provider immediately. Call India's cyber-fraud helpline 1930 and file a report at cybercrime.gov.in. Preserve chats, email headers, phone numbers, payment receipts and the job URL. Then report the listing to JobNod so nobody else gets hit.

You can also check the National Career Service's blacklisted entities and fraud guidance or call the NCS helpline at 1514.
